A big blow to the Cardinals once again.

After injuring his ribs late in the game against the Buffalo Bills, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb is going to miss several weeks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. According to team sources, the injury he sustained when he landed on the football on a busted play has caused several ribs to detach from the sternum, and he also suffered a sprained sternoclavicular joint.

Quarterback John Skelton will now take over, who missed several weeks with an ankle injury he sustained in Week 1.

Head coach Ken Whisenhunt has said all along that he thought that the team would need both Kolb and Skelton, due to the nature of the league and the frequency with which quarterbacks miss games because of injury. He also avoided a controversy by never actually saying who was the number one QB. Now that Skelton is almost 100 percent and Kolb is hurt, there is no need to address it for now.

The team is preparing to play the Minnesota Vikings on the road this week, and Skelton will start, with rookie Ryan Lindley being the backup. There is no word whether the team will sign another quarterback.
