Before I get asked why this is a Fanpost, It's because I don't find it worthy of being a front page article.
By now we've all heard Kolb is out for at least 6 weeks. That means the keys to the offense is now in John Skeltons hand. Lindley will get to be back up for the 5th time in 7 weeks, and will probably get his chance to start with the way the O-line has played. If Skelton does get knocked out of a game... And Lindley comes in for relief, who's the QB we bring in to back him up?
Clearly he's been here before, yes he's short, and yes I doubt he'll survive behind the O-line but outside of Bartel he's the only QB out there who knows our Offense. By the time Skelton goes down the season will either be on the way to the Playoffs, or it will be in the tank after a surprising 4-0 start.
We can't bring him in until next week, would he be brought back in favor of the 6th round pick Ryan Lindley?
Then we could make a trade... The deadline is two weeks away, so if Skelton loses the next two games... Which is more than likely possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if we won those games. Who would you trade for? Jason Campbell? Matt Moore? None and let the season go down the drain?
