The Cards enter the game as a 7-point home dog.
So it is Monday Night Football and this time the Arizona Cardinals are set to host the San Francisco 49ers, playing for first place in the division. Vegas has the Niners as seven-point favorites on the road.
What do we say about picking against the spread?
Well, the Cardinals are undefeated when John Skelton starts at University of Phoenix Stadium. Aside from the 27-6 win the Cardinals had over the Philadelphia Eagles this season, there has not been a home game for the Cardinals that has been decided by more than seven points since they lost to the Steelers in October 2011. As underdogs, the Cardinals are 3-0-1 against the spread.
What does this mean? It means that when the Cardinals play at home, the games are close...and tend to go to overtime. As such, there is only one sure pick for this game -- it is taking the seven points and saying the Cardinals will cover.
