As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am partaking in an All-Time Mock Draft over on the Bears Blog, Windy City Gridiron. with the first three rounds in the book, (at least for me) here's where I stand.
Well I should give you some info first. In the draft, we have to build our team around a set scheme. For me I'm rejuvenating the Air Coryell offense, and using a 3-4 Defense. We get graded and voted for if the players fit our schemes and how good they were in their career. So without further adieu... Here are my selections and reasoning behind them.
Round 1:
Dan Fouts, QB, San Diego Chargers
When you think of the Air Coryell offense, who do you think of? For me it's Dan Fouts. While he may never have won a Superbowl, he was the Matt Schaub of his time, huge numbers but no Superbowl.
Round 2:
Kellen Winslow, TE, San Diego Chargers
Dan Fouts favorite target in that Chargers offense, can block, catch... He can do anything and Mr. Fouts needs that right now.
Round 3:
Jack Youngblood, DE, St. Louis Rams
Yes he didn't play in a 3-4 Defense, towards the end of his career, and people considered him to small to play in a 3-4, yet he proved them wrong with a 9.5 sack season his first year in the 3-4 scheme.
So thoughts, How do you feel about my picks thus far?
