NFL week 10 features crazy games in the NFC West

Otto Greule Jr

The Cardinals were on a bye and the Seahawks won as expected, but it was the game between the Rams and 49ers that made headlines.

What another great week of NFL football. This time, we saw the undefeated Falcons go down to the suddenly surging Saints. The Bears/Texans game on Sunday night was quite the defensive struggle. The Ravens absolutely pummeled the Raiders in Baltimore. Oh, and the Cowboys managed to edge out the Eagles at Lincoln Financial.

But these weren't even the best of the games. The best came when the 49ers hosted the St. Louis Rams. Nobody, including myself, was giving the Rams a chance at Candlestick, but they laid it all out on the field. Fake punts, trick plays, good days from Steven Jackson and Danny Amendola made this game quite the spectacle.

Both teams went into overtime tied at 24 and due to a plethora of mistakes, that is exactly how they would end it -- tied. It marked the first tie game recorded since the 2008 season between the Bengals and Eagles. While the Cardinals would have liked to see the Rams win, it might be even better that neither team came out of this game with a 'W'.

The Seahawks game was pretty entertaining, but only if you are a 'Hawks fan. Russel Wilson is becoming a young superstar in front of our eyes and Golden Tate is developing quite nicely as a receiver. Even though Mark Sanchez went 9/22 for 124 yards and a pick, Jets coach Rex Ryan stated that he will remain the starting quarterback next week. When is it going to be Tebow Time?

Oh, by the way, that Marshawn Lynch guy is still pretty good. They are starting to look more and more like the 49ers with a dominant home field advantage, a stellar defense and a power running game. That looks to be the identity the NFC West has decided to take on.

Next week, the Cardinals will come off their bye to play the Falcons in Georgia. The Seahawks will enter their bye week. The 49ers will host the Bears on Monday Night Football on ESPN and the Rams will get their turn to take some shots at Mark Sanchez and the Jets.

Should be another exciting week of NFL action.
