Yes, this is a postgame rant, because the playsoffs are now out of reach from the most promising start from the Cardinals since Disco was cool and bell bottoms ruled the world of fashion. Michael Bidwill has promised to build a team that will compete, and the moves that need to be made to get this team to the next level is to give Ken Whisenhunt his walking papers. While I have been a staunch supporter of Ken Whisenhunt the trend of being unable to groom QB's and extra long losing streaks is worrisome.
Let's not forget we had Todd Haley out there looking for a job this offseason. He left us to take the next step in his own career, but found himself unemployed after Scott Pioli did what Mr Bidwill needs to do for Ken Whisenhunt. The problem is we did not hire Todd Haley because it's blatantly obvious Ken Whisenhunt prefers "yes men". Now I know this may be premature ,but Whiz made a bold move last week benching Skelton when we were up 13-0 and this week against the Rams. He leaves Ryan Lindley after throwing 3 INT's, two of which were pick 6's by early in the 3rd quarter.
I love how Ken Whisenhunt has taken this team from a perennial loser, but his constant .500 seasons and extra long losing streaks are simply no longer good enough. The fact that he left Batiste in when Nate Potter has clearly been better is simply inexcusable, and that is just this season. Last season we saw the defense suck it up with Haggans and Porter in when we clearly had more capable OLB's in Acho and Schofield. We still haven't seen Stewart Bradley playing even though Paris Lenon has been a total liability as of late.
So let s hope the owner of the Arizona Cardinals shows all of us here at ROTB he is committed to building a winner, and showing Ken Whisenhunt these long losing streaks are no longer acceptable by handing him his walking papers. End Rant.
