On Tuesday, the Arizona Cardinals made some roster moves. O'Brien Schofield was moved to injured reserve. That was expected. What was not expected was when cornerback Crezdon Butler terminated his contract with the team.
Butler was on the practice squad and, as such, is still able to negotiate contracts with other teams. It was not on the NFL's list of transactions, but he likely has agreed to sign with another team.
To replace him on the practice squad, the team re-signed cornerback Greg McCoy, who was a member of the practice squad this season already.
The team did not immediately make a move to replace Schofield on the 53-man roster. With the bye week and only one more practice, the team will likely wait and see on a new player to sign.
In the meantime, that means that Quentin Groves will start in his place and Zack Nash will perhaps see playing time as well.
