Enter: Andy Reid.
Reid is most likely going to be fired at the end of the season, especially if they lose Sunday. Reid has shown, despite his family miss-fortunes, that he is not interested in leaving football. But I'm thinking stepping out the HC spot-light might be a little more soothing for the offensive genius.
Reid has made Kolb look decent to good once before and in AZ he'd have Fitz to make him look even better. He plays a pseudo-west coast offense and likes to spread it out to take shots down the field. He's doesn't rely on the running game but likes to hit his RB in space so they can make things happen.
To me this sounds like we have his offense ready to go. We have the receivers: Fitz, Roberts, Floyd, Byrd (Doucet is GONE). Kolb already knows the system and is, arguably, better in Reid's system than Whiz's. And when we don't pick Beanie up next year (unless he just kills it for the back half of the season) that will leave Williams. Williams has not proven he can be effective in creating holes but is wicked dangerous in space.
Additionally, now we have the Philly connection. We all know how this staff likes to stay with the known rather than gamble on something they don't know. Philly is stacked with talented players and Reid knows every player on all three sides of the ball.
The knock: Reid is going through quite a bit with his family. He most likely will step out of the lime light for a year and then look for another HC position. Also, getting Whiz to change his offense to match Reid is a long shot, to say the least. While those two things are huge and probably game stoppers; this is week 10 of 2012 season. So, here’s to hoping!!!
Who do you have coming to AZ to clean up this horribly performing offense?
