The Cardinals may have lost yet again, but that does not mean there weren't any standout players for the Red Birds.
The Arizona Cardinals are seeing their season wind down, which means our player of the game poll is coming to a close as well. Once again, the Cards were unable to pull out a victory, but there were still some big time players in the game.
See the nominees below and vote in the poll.
For the second week in a row, Adams was able to recover a special teams blunder. This time, the ball took an awkward bounce on a punt, traveling backwards and hitting a Bears player in the face. Adams scooped the ball up, but was unable to advance it because it was a muff. Still, it was a nice turnover to get for the Cards as Adams stays hot.
How odd is it that for the first time in weeks, I have included the team's best player in the player of the game poll? Fitz was a force throughout the first half, catching 8 passes for 111 yards. He saw plenty of targets as usual, it was just that Ryan Lindley was actually able to make them somewhat catchable this game. He managed to record just gis 2nd 100-yard game of the season. Nice to see Fitz back.
Every week Zastudil makes this list. This time, Zasty makes it because he now has 42 punts inside the opponent's 20 yard-line, which ties an NFL single season record. He is a premium punter and, honestly, I am not sure you can vote anyone over him as the Pro Bowl punter for the NFC. He has been that good all year long. Almost a 50 yard average per punt for another week should get him to Hawaii.
Just another day at the office for Calais. A sack, a deflected pass with his freakishly long arms, a QB hit and 8 tackles. After his performance against the Lions last week, he should be making another run at a reserve spot for the NFC Pro Bowl team as well.
The rookie receiver had a nice day, collecting 6 passes for 47 yards. He was targeted 8 times, which was also nice to see. He is starting to really come into his own and will be interesting to see if he can surpass Andre Roberts on the depth chart to begin the 2013 season.
Wilson managed to block a short field goal attempt by Olindo Mare at the end of the game, allowing Justin Bethel to scoop it up and score. Is this the last game we see A-Dub as a member of the Cardinals in University of Phoenix Stadium? I certainly have mixed emotions on the whole subject.
