2013 NFL Draft order: Loss to Bears puts Arizona Cardinals 8th

Nothing like another top 10 pick in the draft

The Arizona Cardinals sit at 5-10 following their 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. In doing such, they have all but locked up a top 10 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Here is the current order for the draft, according to SBNation.com.

1. Kansas City Chiefs - 2-13 (.489 SOS)
2. Jacksonville Jaguars - 2-13 (.551 SOS)
3. Oakland Raiders - 4-11 (.471 SOS)
4. Philadelphia Eagles - 4-11 (.507 SOS)
5. Detroit Lions - 4-11 (.569 SOS)
6. Buffalo Bills - 5-10 (.493 SOS)
7. Cleveland Browns - 5-10 (.502 SOS)
8. Arizona Cardinals - 5-10 (.553 SOS)
9. Tennessee Titans - 5-10 (.538 SOS)
10. San Diego Chargers - 6-9 (.471 SOS)
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 6-9 (.482 SOS)
12. New York Jets - 6-9 (.516 SOS)
13. Carolina Panthers - 6-9 (.520 SOS)
14. Pittsburgh Steelers - 7-8 (.476 SOS)
15. Miami Dolphins - 7-8 (.480 SOS)
16. New Orleans Saints - 7-8 (.527 SOS)
17. St. Louis Rams - 7-7-1 (.524 SOS)
18. Dallas Cowboys - 8-7 (.511 SOS
19. New York Giants - 8-7 (.544 SOS)
20. Chicago Bears - 9-6 (.533 SOS)

Teams currently on pace to make the playoffs where elimination will determine the proper order.
21. Cincinnati Bengals - 9-6 (.427 SOS)
22. Minnesota Vikings - 9-6 (.507 SOS)
23. Indianapolis Colts - 10-5 (.422 SOS)
24. Seattle Seahawks - 10-5 (.509 SOS)
25. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 9-6 (.496 SOS)
26. Baltimore Ravens - 10-5 (.484 SOS)
27. San Francisco 49ers - 10-4-1 (.520 SOS)
28. Green Bay Packers - 11-4 (.445 SOS)
29. New England Patriots - 11-4 (.502 SOS)
30. Denver Broncos - 12-3 (.480 SOS)
31. Houston Texans 12-3 (.480 SOS)
32. Atlanta Falcons - 13-2 (.418 SOS)

I know we like the team to win, but had they lost to the woeful Lions, they would be in the top 5. We can argue about whether or not that would have been for the franchise as a whole, but it was definitely nice to have seen a win.

With the season finale against the San Francisco 49ers, even if the Cards lose, they may lose a spot or two in the draft because playing the Niners will improve their strength of schedule (the SOS in this order is based on opponents already played and not future opponents).

Can the Cards get an impact player at number eight? A quarterback? A running back? An offensive lineman? Or how about another receiver (*snickers*)?

Of course, the matter of who will be making the selection is yet another topic of discussion.

One more week left and we will soon be able to go into full coach and draft talk.
