The Cardinals need to hire a HC with years of winning tradition in his bag. NFL or College, does not matter, although NFL winning coaches are pretty much spoken for.

That leaves the College ranks to choose from. A winning HC knows how to manage a coaching staff and as a HC, has connections and a pipeline to talented coaches and players from across the country.

An experienced HC has had to hone his "People Skills" and learn how to focus on details that bring out the best, and most, from his players and staff. These college HCs have learned how to deal effectively with the "bosses" to keep them at arms length from the on field decisions.
