I am not sure who was in charge of the $200,000 fine for Dockett, but Whisenhunt and Graves were probably the main players in it.
This is Whisenhunt taking his anger out on a situation and taking it too far. There is always this on a Defense where some players want the team to score and some don't. I side with Dockett since if they didn't score they would have to kick a field goal and then the Cards would only need a TD to win, but with their offense that day it was very unlikely.
Letting them score AZ would of had to score a TD and a 2pt Conversion.
This is:
- Whisenhunt who didn't tell Boldin personally that he was not playing at Chicago.
- Whisenhunt cutting Leinart for talking to the media about his complaints with the QB situation.
- Whisenhunt who had issues with Rothlesberger (while no other coaches have).
- Graves asking Heap to take pay cut too late in the offseason to sign on with another team.
Whisenhunt and Graves need to go. If they don't I can't see Dockett on this team next year and we will lose a great player and have to waste a draft pick/FA money on a position instead of addressing other areas of need.
I believe the fine won't happen after the appeal and with Horton and a new GM the hard feelings will be in the past and Dockett will stay.
