Cardinals vs. Seahawks: The keys to victory

Can Arizona snap its eight-game losing streak?

The Arizona Cardinals attempt to end an eight-game skid that started after a 4-0 start to the season. They will do it with John Skelton, the Week 1 starter at quarterback who got hurt, then returned when Kevin Kolb got hurt, then was yanked in the game against the Falcons and sat as Ryan Lindley started last week.

What will it take for the Cardinals to sweep the season series with Seattle, who is trying to stay in the wold card race.

Cause turnovers:

This seems like something that is always a key to the game; however, they got four turnovers against the Jets and six against the Falcons and still managed to lose. But with the Cards' offensive problems, the defense will need to take the ball away to get the team in scoring position early and often.

Stop the run:

Marshawn Lynch ran for 85 yards in the season opener. The Cards have struggled against the run. Containing Lynch will allow the defense to focus on Russell Wilson and confuse what he is doing.

Run the ball:

Arizona's offense needs balance. Only passing makes it terribly easy to defend them. Beanie Wells and LaRod Stephens-Howling need to gain some yards.

Get Larry Fitzgerald the ball!

With Brandon Browner out, the Cards need to take advantage and get Larry Fitzgerald the ball. John Skelton has been erratic with his throws. A few need to find number 11 so that he can make plays for the team.

Play within yourself, Big John

Skelton has a lot of pressure on his shoulders. He already was demoted and yanked from a game. He doesn't need to hit 20 deep throws. He needs to hit open guys that maybe include three or four. He has had the turnover bug, so he needs to avoid that.

...

Doing these things will not guarantee a win, but at minimum it will work to show that the desire is there.
