After the horrendous 58 - 0 loss to the
Seahawks, it does makes me and surely many other Arizona Cardinal fans wonder ... who is next up as QB and what is in store for the beleaguered
Cardinals Franchise these last few games.
After starting the 2012 regular season at home with a thrilling win against the Seahawks, a team who had started a rookie QB, The Cardinals then moved on to a solid win against the
New England Patriots. a win over the spotty Vick led
Eagles and an overtime win against the
Miami Dolphins who also started a rookie QB!!!
We saw the defense play tough against the run and struggling against the pass, but usually toughened up at the right time to seal a victory. Now we as fans are watching an amazing slide.
Yes, over the last 9 games the Cardinals have won -0-. Yes this franchise has gone 0 - 9 in a row, which is not a franchise record (that was 1944 wartime when they lost 10 in a row).
Now many Cardinal fans will blame injuries to the O-line, Kolb getting hurt or even bad luck. The truth of the matter the blames lies on the shoulders of the coaches who have not been able to evaluate talent at the QB position and one the offensive-line (which is truly offensive to watch too). Three seasons ago I suggested the Whisenhut was a great assistant coach, yet was not ready to take the reins as head coach. Yes many Cardinals fans drowned me out with the many loud voices yelling Super-Bowl, playoff wins and division titles. It seems reality is slowly dawning on the Arizona Cardinal fans in the desert! 9 in a row... Losses.
Can the Cardinals win another game this year? It really depends on the how the last three opponents decide to play them. Detroit has something to prove and will play the Cardinals tough with
Calvin Johnson (Megatron) working against secondary of the Cardinals. It could be loss # 10! The
Bears on the 23rd will more than likely want to embarrass the AZ Birds just for the heck of it. #11 in a row is likely...... Lastly the
49ers will play their backup QB Smith. Oh I forgot, that is the same QB that beat the Cardinals earlier in the year! Loss # 12.
If Whisenhut still has a job on Monday morning, he won't after this breakdown of a season and a 12 loss losing streak that can be easily extended through much of the 2013 season. My hope that the young QBs Lindley and Skelton are not permanently scarred by the bad coaching staff of the Cardinals and find other teams who can groom and develop an NFL caliber QB who is serviceable at the least, like many other teams in the NFL have done with 3-6 rounds picks.
