Peyton Manning And Larry Fitzgerald Reportedly To Eat Together, Talk - SB Nation Arizona
Where are you at with the Peyton talk? Are you starting to think there is something to this? It's an awful lot of smoke to not have a fire somewhere.

This will defintely be the topic of choice for the next 5 weeks on ROTB.
Gotta love Fitz willing to do anything to win.

Of the three name i've heard to be very interested in Peyton (Miami, Jets, and us)
the Cardinals seem to be the best choice, and I’m trying my best to be unbiased. Miami does not have a team ready to be a serious Super Bowl contender, even if they added Manning. New York and Arizona are both pretty similar. Good defenses(though I’d give the edge to NY), strong running game(probably give the edge to us), but I doubt Manning would want to go into that mess of a locker room in NY, or go to New York and take the spot light away from his brother. Plus Arizona has the best WR in the world!
I don’t want to get too excited, because I’ve been disappointed before, but if Manning gets released, I’ll start to get seriously excited

Don't forget the dome factor
Unlikely that Peyton will want to finish his career in an outdoor stadium after spending so many years in a dome unless it’s a place where weather isn’t much of a factor. That would put some of the possible landing places I’ve heard about like NY, SF, Seattle, etc., behind in the running from the get-go.
None of the teams,
You mentioned have nice weather, well while it isn’t too particularly cold on the west coast it rains quite a bit at Qwest and the ’Stick.

Good points.
I like the Manning idea.

Completely agree
I am trying to look at this without bias and I think we have the best situation for him of the teams that seem to be in on him. I think you forgot Washington because I see them making a bid but if I am Manning I come here.

Cardinals, Suns, D-backs for life!
They will probably make a bid for Manning
but like Miami, i don’t see them in a position to contend soon, which is likely the most important factor for Manning. Washington is very likely to try and trade their 6th overall pick with either St Louis or Minnesota to try and get RG3

In addition to what you mention:
Miami plays outdoors in a place that rains a fair amount as well and plays the Jets D and NE Patiorts twice a year.
Jets are the same as far as playing NE and play outdoors in bad weather late as well. Can’t see Manning choosing to go into the AFC East when 9-10 wins is all it takes to make the playoffs (typically) in the NFC west.

News flash!
Two guys are eating dinner together which obviously means they are in love.
I love the hype, it’s fun. But this is kind of ridiculous.

this dinner definately means something.
Don’t think that it doesn’t have implications. Does it guarantee that Manning comes to Arizona when (which will be next week I truly believe) he gets cut? Absolutely not. But let’s get one thing straight. If Manning had no neck injury, and was the Colts QB going forward, do you honestly believe Fitzgerald and Manning would be having dinner this week? Absolutely not.

I doubt they'll be talking about random topics
Fitz definitely means to give him a sales pitch. Will it work? Who knows. I’m just waiting for Manning to be cut first. But it’s definitely something.
And this will without-a-doubt blow up into a huge, huge, huge off-season story.

Don't Forget,
Fitz had a “private” workout with Kolb, and look where he landed.

this may actually happen and im loving every minute of it
Larry was on Mike n Mike this A.M, and of course he was asked about the Manning situation and he (Larry) said he’d love to have Manning under center, he also said that feelings would be hurt if he was to come here (kolb/skelton) but as he said its a business and it is what it is..

Great, now we are going to have to keep hearing about this crap.
Would I like watching Manning throwing to Fitz? Hell yeah.
Do I think it will happen? Hell no. Even though Manning was supposedly cleared to play again, do I think he will ever return to his previous form? No. Do I think it will even take someone as great as Manning time to get used to our offense? Yes. Do I worry about his health behind this offensive line? Yes.
You guys need to stop getting your hopes and dreams up for this, or it will just hurt you that much more when it can’t happen.

Kolb has 2 concussions,
so I worry about his health behind this O-line just as much as Peyton. Ill take a 80% Manning over a 100% Kolb any day. No one believed Kurt Warner would return to his previous form either

There is a big difference being cleared to play and being able to play qb
Cleared to play means a Dr. says the neck is healed to the point he can play – doesn’t mean the arms strength is present.

Thats what I'm wondering too.
What level from Chad Pennington to his normal self is he even at right now?

Pretty sure he's nowhere near 100 percent
Still news enough to get the hens a cluckin
Dinner is one thing
players have dinner all the time. Now if they have a private workout later this offseason then that’ll be really interesting.
It is really hard to tell what to make of this
On one hand, you have to remember that the Cardinals’ organization cannot talk to Peyton as he is under contract with another team so it would make sense for them to put out a feeler player to player.
On the other hand, the Mannings appear to be masters at handling the press. If Manning wants to play, why not create a buzz. Either it puts pressure on Irsay to cough up the dough or gets gets teams in a bidding war. Let’s wait and see if he has lunch with Brandon Marshal next week.

That is spot on,
and now even little brother is saying he should be able to stay in Indianapolis, but all signs would certainly point to Irsay preparing to dump the face of his franchise in what seems to be the deep twilight of his career. Can anyone say “rebuild”?

My guy-love for Fitz just tripled
And I didn’t even know that was possible.
This is getting huge. The media is starting to pick up on this, so I think we could be one of the most talked-about teams of the off-season, just like last year during the lockout (Kolb speculation).
Joe Saunders: "They Giants played a really good game, so hats off to us"
We need to see who pays for the meal...
If it’s Fitz then Mannings coming to AZ, if Manning pays Fitz couldn’t talk him into it…
I’m kidding.
All seriousness aside dat maybe true lol
