The whole Manning mess has been annoying for all the fans, and I'm sure the coaches. How might it affect Kevin Kolb?

While Kolb was extremely classy during the whole ordeal, my question is how is he going to be affected by it in the long term? He can take it one of two ways really:

1) See it was an obvious sign that he needs to prove himself now, and it would light a fire under his ***.

2) Or it can kill his confidence? As in the team doesn't really believe that he's their guy.

I'm really a Kolb fan and think we haven't given him enough of a chance to prove himself. I think with a full off season, provided he doesn't stub his toe again, he will play some damn good football next season.
