I Can't Believe No One Believes

I am starting to see and hear a bunch of grumbling about the Cardinals off season, coming from fans of the Bigg Red Nation. In a way I feel you, but for the most part I do not. First off the Cards only had about $445,000 dollars worth of cap space. Not to much room to give out a huge contract. Certainly has not been any type of talent you go in and look at, and decide to re arrange the roster to create cap room. Now deals can be restructured as we seen with Daryn Colledge. I feel there is being cap cleared to bring in a solid free agent.

More than 25 percent of the Hot 100 are still getting the cold shoulder.

That is the headline posted by profootballtalk.com 3-26-12. Yes Demetrius Bell is on the list, but someone even more special is on that list, and that is who I believe we as Cards have overlooked and need to take a hard look at. That man is London Fletcher.believe

His name speaks for itself. He has been in the league for 14 years and seems as he has not lost a beat. Now I know he is older and we have P. Lennon sitting in the middle of the our down and dirty Red D. But just take a look at the stat lines. This guy Fletcher has put up at least 80 tackles per season since 2000. Ray Lewis cannot fill that stat line. Am I saying he is Ray Lewis, no I am not, he is London Fletcher. But he is pretty darn close if you ask me. He controls the middle of the field and is in on every play.

For those concerned with his production do not be. In 2011 Fletcher posted 93 solo tackles with 70 assist....let me repeat 70 assist. That means he is in on just about everything moving. That is a whopping 163 tackles. Not bad for a 14 year veteran. L. Fletch (done on purpose) led the league in assisted tackles in 2011. What that says to me is he reads and recognizes the play quickly and efficiently. By adding L. Fletcher to the roster would allow Daryl Washington to roam the middle even more, just think of the numbers he would be able to put up. I mean, Daryl Washington in my opinion is capable of having five interceptions this season, he had two interceptions in 2011.
