Never mind the headline, as with all drafts we should take the best player on the board regardless if we are stacked at the position or there is a guy that has shown performance and talent that is highly debatable that fills a gaping hole we have on the team.
We have a pick in the first half of the first round, so with this selection anything else than drafting a player that would make highlight reels is an absolute waste of a first round pick. Our offensive line seems to be the red headed stepchild of our offensive woes, while our offensive line is certainly noting to brag about the group of linemen we have are certainly not offensive. Take a look around the league the longer any front 5 stays together as a group the higher they rise in the rankings. All these mock drafts that have us tacking a tackle whether it be Martin or Reiff have been driving me mad, we could have the best offensive line in the world, but it won't do jack if Kolb or Skelton can't get the ball out in under 5. Anyways onto who I would feel best about us grabbing at 13 in order of preference
David DeCastro- Once in a decade guard prospect, getting this generation's Steve Hutchinson is a wonderful thing
Melvin Ingram- He may have short little arms, but that same "handicap" gave him the drive to build a fierce collection of moves to get by a blocker and get after the passer. I'm also going to go against the grain here, and say if we draft Ingram slipping him inside next to Washington would take our defense to a whole new level with being able to get pressure from all angles.
Cordy Glenn- Total project and may be a reach, but why not put a freight train in the middle of the line for a ball control offense.
