Reports are coming out that Minn is shopping the third pick. I am guessing that they are doing this to see if they can get close to the deal that St. Louis got. I don't think they will get three number ones like St. Louis but I think the Cardinals can get Kalil, argueably the best LT in the Draft and the only one that can be an instant starter from the word go.
more after the jump....
Looking at the current points of the draft system it would appear that the third pick in this years draft is worth 2200 points. 400 less than the second pick and a full 800 less than the first pick.
Cardinals are currently at the 13th pick in this draft so their first pick is worth 1150. To even make this happen we would have to give up our first round pick next year as well. now teams de value these picks because they dont know where that position is going to be in the draft so i am going to give it a point value of 1000 which is the middle of the point scale in the first round. So we are about right where we need to be but i think if we just offered 2 firsts Minn would reject and just take Matt.
I would also offer our second next year as well. I know its a lot to offer for one player but you get the best player to cover your biggest glaring need and get an upgrade in brown at RT. You now have a very solid Offensive line. From what I hear this draft is deep in WR which we can pick up in the third round the best WR available. What I want to know is it too much do we draft now figuring this pick is going to get us back to the playoffs and past the first round. If it doest inst a trade of the 25th pick next year for the best OT in the draft?
