Now that the Arizona Cardinals have their first round pick selected in the NFL Draft, we now ask the question -- who is he? Who is Michael Floyd exactly?

Floyd grew up in St. Paul and attended Cretin-Derham Hall High School, which is less than 10 miles from Larry Fitzgerald's prep alma mater, Academy of the Holy Angels, in Minneapolis.

Floyd and Fitzgerald have known each other for a while. Since Floyd was in high school, he and Fitz have texted one another.

In high school, Floyd was a two-time All-State and All-American selection.

At Notre Dame, he holds seven school records, having shattered the previous records for receptions (271), receiving yards (3,686) and receiving TDs (37). Prior to Floyd's arrival, the school records in those categories were 179 receptions (Jeff Samardzija), 2,707 receiving yards (Golden Tate) and 27 receiving TDs (Jeff Samardzija).

In 2011, he had 100 receptions for 1147 yards.

He is listed at 6-3, 224 lbs., so he has size. His 40 time was 4.47 at the combine.

As for a scouting report, Mocking the Draft says this:

Since Anquan Boldin left Arizona, the Cardinals struggled to find a legitimate No. 2 receiver. It may seem like a luxury pick for the Cardinals to draft a second option, but Floyd is a good one. He's a big body receiver who can get yards after the catch. Floyd is the first Notre Dame wide receiver taken in the first round since Tim Brown...

Quick scouting notes: Really knows how to use his frame and strength to his advantage getting open and beating the jam. Quick feet. Hard to take down after the catch and doesn't mind getting hit. Will make spectacular catches away from his frame. Produced despite poor quarterback play.

He had some character issues, but seems to have matured. After two offenses for underage drinking, he was charged with a DUI. The team does not believe this will be an issue now.
