So I am going to focus on the Linemen drafted by the cardinals mainly because I think we just made excellent picks. I am excited about our first, third, and sixth round picks but im all about looking at the big boys.
Jump me....
Forth Round Selection:
| Bobby Massie | T | 6'6" | 316 | Mississippi | 85.0 |
" Massie was rated as an early-round pick on some boards. He possesses the size and strength to manhandle edge players as a right tackle, which fills an obvious need in Arizona."
This may be the best pickup in about 10 years for the Cardinals. I heard that this was a second round prospect on some draft boards and somehow he drops to the forth round. He is going to challange for a starting spot right away. Im not sure of current depth chart but he may just slide right up into that RT spot and start day one. I love this pick.
Fifth Round Selection:
| Senio Kelemete | T | 6'3" | 307 | Washington | 72.5 |
" The Cardinals nab a solid offensive tackle with Kelemete. He enters the league with plenty of experience and that could make him a viable candidate to win a starting role early in his career."
From what I understand though he was drafted as a Tackle from what I understand he is considered to be natural guard. So while people think we are set at guard I am considering this a pick for the future. Lets say we need to same some money down the road a second or third year guard is far cheaper than both of our starting guards if he ends up coming along nicely and there is little to no drop off.
Seventh Round Selection:
| Nate Potter | T | 6'6" | 303 | Boise St. | 62.7 |
"Potter is an intriguing prospect with size and skills. He has been effective at Boise State, but needs to raise his game as a pro."
I am thinking this is purely a long term prospect. He wont start for minimum three years but lets be honest he could very well be cut day one or he could be a work in progress and some day be starting LT or RT, I like the pick mainly because even if he is a career back up you waste a seventh round pick and i think after a couple years if he does end up taking a position we can trade or "experienced" starter to a team but im not holding my breath.
On a side note i watched this guy from Presbyterian play and he is good to the ball and fast and plays the run like a friggen stud.... he is adrian wilson jr and after a couple years we have our replacement..
