Draft Need vs. Best Player Available......

When It comes to the crapshoot that is the NFL Draft every year their are a couple of mindsets that seem to take form. Heres a list:

1) Best Player Available

2) Draft for Need on the Team

3) Drop down to aquire more picks

4) Sell draft picks for cash (oh wait.... thats the suns sorry wrong blog.)

More after the Jump.....

So when It comes to Ken Whisenhunt he has drafted for best player available and need before. Now most of us know how the draft for need worked out. How many people would like Adrian Peterson on our team right now? So I am a firm believer that Coach Wiz has learned and will draft best player available.

I also think that that mentality worked the last couple years because we had so much crap to fix on this team that almost any position he drafted it would of been an improvement to the team as a whole. This year I don't think that is the case. We have 3 spots that are huge glaring omittions on this team that we need to address.

OL- Most people would say OT primarily a LT but lets be honest their is a guard out there that would start on 28 other NFL teams day one. Here is the problem people tend to have on drafting a lineman. It isn't sexy, it doesn't excite people, no one says "YES WE JUST GOT OUR SUPER BOWL WINNING OFFENSIVE LINEMAN" but like most of us here understand if the QB stays upright its a more fun game to watch

OLB - Too be honest a lot of people are saying this so I am putting it in here but, I don't consider this a need. If Wiz were to draft a OLB with the first pick at 13 I would put my faith in him because he has earned it, but to me at this point in time I consider this a luxury to draft another OLB with the 13th pick (now 27 and 31 from the Patriots thats a whole other story all together)

WR - I 100% agree that they need another WR to line up next to Fitz so that we have a viable threat next to him or he has the skills available to get the job done himself to win games. My opinion on the matter is that if their is a guard on the board that is ready to play now, and is a once in 10 years guard prospect that their are 20 other WR out in the draft and FA that can do the job I just described here.

So everyone knows how I want them to go and If you don't you havn't been here long enough for me to shove my opinion down your throat yet. So I want to know if all players are equal in grade (don't care who they are even) what position do you draft with the first round pick?
