Arizona Cardinals fans have seen the quality of head coach that Ken Whisenhunt has been for the franchise. With the exception of a miserable 2010 campaign, he has kept the team .500 or better. He turned Kurt Warner around from a washed up former MVP into an almost Super Bowl champion. He has four postseason wins under his belt and two division championships.
You could say that his finest work was a season ago, when after a 1-6 start, he stayed the course, kept the players together and led the team to an 8-8 finish.
You would probably say he is one of the better coaches in the NFL. he is paid like it too.
According to Forbes, Whisenhunt is not only a well paid NFL coach, he is the eighth-highest paid coach in all of sports
He makes $5.75 million and is under contract through 2013, with an option for 2014. He is tied with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin with his salary.
Of course, the NFL coaching salaries are higher. Eight of the 10 in that list are NFL coaches.
We know that Whiz is pretty much worth every penny he is paid.
But the question is -- should he be one of the top 10 paid coaches in all sports?
