Yesterday, I introduced you to both Conrad Obi and Paul Vassallo. Many of you were familiar with Vassallo, considering the fact that he played at U of A down in Tucson, so the general thought is that he has a shot at making the practice squad or at least getting close.

Today, we switch back to the offensive side of the ball to look at Northern Illinois center, Scott Wedige. You can follow him on Twitter @wedige71. To learn more about this All-American lineman, hit the jump.

Here is what the Arizona Cardinals press release has to say about Wedige:

Northern Illinois center SCOTT WEDIGE (WED-ige) (6-4, 310) was a two-year starter and helped the Huskies to back-to-back 11-win seasons and a 15-1 record in regular season MAC games the past two seasons. He played in 43 games over his career at NIU, starting all 28 the last two seasons, and earned first-team All-MAC honors each of the past two years. As a senior in 2011, Wedige was a second-team All-American selection by CBSSports.com and helped the Huskies to their first MAC championship since 1983.

Wedige has a lot of experience on the field after being a two-year starter at NIU. He also has prototypical size for an NFL center, which undoubtedly got him some looks from other teams. To be honest, I am somewhat surprised Wedige was not drafted near the 6th or 7th round.

At the NIU pro day, he ran a 5.14 second 40-yard dash, he put up 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench and his 3 cone drill time was 7.89 seconds. These are all pretty good numbers for an o-lineman.

Oh, and the guy knows how to put away some good food, too. Check out this funny video of Wedige trying out some Southern cooking while he was at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama:

With all of the linemen that the Cardinals drafted this year, it will be tough for Wedige to find a spot on the roster. He has the collegiate tenure as an interior lineman, but there are quite a few players ahead of him on the depth chart. I already like this guy and hope he can find a way onto the team in some fashion (practice squad, 53 man roster, etc.), but he will need to have an outstanding training camp in order to accomplish that goal.

What do you think? Does Scott Wedige have a shot at making it onto the Cardinals roster? Tell us what you think in the comments section and vote in the poll.
