Nfl season is in the air

There is nothing better than the beginning of a new NFL season, and following your favorite teams every move. I always had fond memories as a child this time of year, and couldn’t wait to see how my team was going to fair during the season. Growing up in Dallas, the main focus and news coverage was all on the NFC East, which back then, my beloved Cardinals were in the East, and that’s how I became a huge fan. The Cardinals would roll through town once a year like clock work, and every year I would try and talk my parents into purchasing tickets for that game, but when growing up in the 70’s, money was tight, so low and behold, I was glued to the television set watching my Redbirds. Awww the memories of Otis Anderson busting through the line for a nice gain, or Jim Hart pressing the ball downfield for a potential game winning drive. This is what I thrived for on Sunday afternoons. Another big event during this time was receiving the new Fall edition of the Sears catalog, which would feature all the Nfc teams in the boys section. This is when I received my very first Cardinal sweathshirt. Remember, back then we didn’t have internet, ebay, ect ect..so I had to depend on the Sears catalog every year to make out my Christmas list, and every year it was something with the Cardinals. So with the season about to be upon us, the excitement is already building, and Im so ready for the reports and updates coming out of camp this year. I hope to be writing a lot more through out the season and expressing my hot sports opinions with my fellow Birdgang, so if you have any thoughts or topics you would like to discuss, please give me a shout.
