Kevin Kolb

Let me start off by saying,....I sure hope Kevin Kolb is ourstarting quarterback when we open the season this year. Now,...let me explain why. Reason # 1,...we went out and got THE guythat EVERYONE was clammoring for at the time. There's gotta be SOMETHING there. Last year, out of desperation,...and understandably so, we threw a newlyacquired, highly valued piece of the puzzle into the fire, or should I say toteh wolves, bears, lions, panthers,...lol and any other deadly adversary youcan think of,...without any preparation or protection. We were so desperate that we basicallybrought the guy into a sinking ship, gave him a rope, told him to walk onwater, and oh yeah,...pull the boat behind you all the way to the other sidealong the way. Then,...we all ducked andsaid, "see, it's his fault"! Horrible,...simply horrible. Ifwe would have even let Skelton start the first half of the season while Kevinat least got to know the names of his teammates,...I'm sure he would have notonly had a better showing, but could have maybe even stayed on the field a bitmore. And I'm also sure, that Skeltonwould have had a much worse showing than he did last year,...even if he didonly complete a Tebow percentage of passes per game,...in the fourth quarter. Look, I know we have all grown sick of watchingour offense play with essentially 10 guys on the field since Leinart was cut(remember that guy?...the one that was actually coming along and holding KurtWarner at bay until his collar bone got crushed standing in the non-existentpocket, secured by our offensive "dotted" line?" The main reason Kurt was so successful wasthat as a saavy veteran and potential hall of famer, he knew enough todisregard Todd Haley and Ken Wisenhunt and get rid of the ball ASAP! And even with that said, even he wasn'tthrown in there to look down the barrell the very same day that hearrived. No indeed,...Matt was kindenough to take that pill for him. Furthermore, if we never give Kolb a legitimate shot for at least aseason,...like we failed to give Matt Leinhart, we will be back at the draftlooking for another quarterback. I'm notsaying that Skelton is a slouch by any means,...but he is a late round pick fora reason. Those guys dont just step ontothe field and light it up without havign a chance to see someone do itfirst. Ala Tom Brady, Brett Favre,Aaraon Rodgers, Steve Young,....you name it. Throw him in the fire this year,...and he will regress. Defensive punishment has a tendency to dothat to quarterbacks who are not mentally ready to process and diagnose thegame faster than it is coming at you. Giving Kolb this season will allow him to show us what he's got, andallow Skelton to develop into what we hope he can become....a steal! Who knows,...we just may end up with two goodquarterbacks! What a turnaround thatwould be? Either way,...I'm certainlynot ready to tread down that same path that we took when we let Leinhart go forAnderson!
