Let's face it, the Cardinals defense is in a lose-lose situation heading into the first preseason game from a national media coverage perspective. And I like it. If/ when the first team defense comes out looking elite as hell and shuts down Drew Brees and the Saints, all of the attention will be on the Saints and their off the field issues. The prominent story line will be that the Saints' offense "struggled", and the blame will be attributed to external factors taking away their focus. Our defense will get absolutely no respect, and I love it. We always play better with a chip on our shoulder, and we like flying under the radar.

On the flip side, if the defense doesn't look good, all the attention will still be on the saints and how they "overcame adversity", but let's not talk about that scenario.
