I think Ken Whisenhunt starting John Skelton over Kevin Kolb was the right call. This is a case of Whisenhunt going with the what he knows best. Skelton time and time again has shown promise and potential of being a legitimate NFL QB. What the fans want to see is consistency and improvement from him. Looking at the preseason it was pretty apparent that Skelton had full command of the huddle, and showing great poise, and durability in the pocket. His accuracy has seemed to have improved, and most importantly he has shown that he can get off to a great start. Last season it was taking him all the way to the 4th Quarter to get warmed up, now it seems that the defense won't have to compensate for his mistakes as much early in the game. IF Skelton can play every quarter like it was the 4th quarter we could conceivably win every game. Skelton will have more help this year with fully loaded 2-back system once Beanie Wells fully recovers. As long as Skelton can convert on 3rd down and redzone numbers we'll win most of our games, and possibly clinch a playoff berth.
