Although Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb is set to take the start against his former team on Sunday, there are a couple things that may preclude him from doing so. The first, yet unlikely, one is that John Skelton could recover from his ankle injury in time for the game and retain his old job. I still think the team waits at least one more week.

The other, and much more likely scenario, involves Kolb not being at the stadium at all.

Kevin Kolb's wife, Whitney Kolb, is expecting their third child, which could be coming any day now. According to the Arizona Republic's Kent Somers, notes that Kolb said the baby still isn't due for another two weeks. But if it were to come this weekend by some chance (which is incredibly possible), Kolb said that he would attend the child's birth over playing in the game.

And, honestly, I would as well in the same situation. Football is football, witnessing the birth of your child is a whole different story.

Anyhow, what were to happen if the baby came a bit early? One has to wonder if the Cardinals will activate Skelton for an emergency third quarterback position in case that happens. Ryan Lindley may see some game action sooner than we all initially thought.

Good luck to Kevin, but as he said, let's wait until an off day for the birth of his child. That would be more beneficial for everyone.
