The NFL season begins. The projections and predictions do as well. Everyone wants to know what people project for the regular season. SB Nation Studios has put together their preview series and this particular video is dealing with the NFC West.

Who do they predict will be the winner of the division? It shouldn't surprise you.

Of course, the San Francisco 49ers are the favorites. However, they note that the number of turnovers they forced will have to go down. It simply is not statistically viable to expect that again.

The Cardinals? They get killed by the hosts. They are predicted to be third in the division and get destroyed on the quarterback situation. Yes, we know that the quarterback situation is far from ideal. However, they go as far as to say that Skelton is not capable of winning a playoff game. Now I admittedly have been slow to think that Skelton can get the job done as the starter. I have seen his improvements. But more importantly, he has shown he can make big throws. Why couldn't he win a playoff game?

The problem with the preview? They don't even mention the Arizona defense or the fact that the team won seven of nine down the stretch in 2011.

They pick the Seattle Seahawks to not only finish in second in the division, but also land a wild card berth.

The Cardinals, yes, they have big concerns. But if the defense is like it was down the stretch and if Skelton can simply avoid turning the ball over, things won't necessarily be so bleak.
