Arizona Cardinals Well Under Salary Cap, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

The regular season is about to begin, and the Arizona Cardinals are in good shape with their salaries apparently. Pro Football Talk listed all the NFL teams and their salary situation. The Cardinals, after being real tight with the cap early in the offseason, have now given themselves some breathing room.

As of September 3, Arizona was $10.0 million under the cap.

Granted, that is the number for the top 51 salaries on the team. As of Sunday, the number will go down based on the players on injured reserve and other reserve lists. So the team needs to add in Levi Brown's cap number and Jeremy Bridge's cap number once the regular season begins.

Should Arizona do anything with that money? It has been suggested more than once that the team has a goal to extend Daryl Washington and perhaps even LaRod Stephens-Howling. Washington is a go, we know, from our perspective. Is there anyone on the market that the team should target while they have money to spend?
