Jay Feely will have to win some games for us again!
Oh, how power rankings can make a fan furious.
SB Nation and lead editor Joel Thorman recently came out with their 2012 pre-regular season power rankings list and, needless to say, they aren't too high on the Arizona Cardinals.
Find out where they were placed after the jump.
The Cardinals were ranked 31st in the league, according to Thorman. Here is his explanation:
That quarterback battle made me feel a lot better about ranking them 31st.
He really didn't have to say anymore. John Skelton has been named the starting QB, but that hardly will settle the quarterback dilemma. Then you have the horrible offensive line that the Cards have decided to put on the field to protect Skelton. It is all adding up to be a disaster and everyone sees it.
Arizona will have to rely on a strong defense and a dynamic special teams unit to win many of their games. Forcing turnovers, scoring on them and using the other team's shortcomings to their advantage are the only ways the Cardinals will win games this season. The offense is just inadequate.
Behind the Cardinals are the lowly Browns, who, despite drafting Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson in the first round, still figure to be pretty awful. Just ahead of Arizona is Miami. Yep, that's right, the Dolphins. Sad.
What are your thoughts on these rankings? Should the Cardinals be higher? Lower (gulp)? Tell us in the comments section.
