The best word I can use to describe the Arizona team is Dysfunctional.
This "Whiz Built" team was five years in the making? I don't get it. The pre-season was bad enough with all the excuses and conjectures. I tried to hold my tongue.
This is the real deal, the season has started and still, nothing has changed, except it can't be said that the coaches are running plays to evaluate the players. Who ever is calling the plays needs to stop doing it and allow someone else to take over. Maybe someone who knows what he's doing.
I felt sorry for Skelton. There was no imagination used to spread the Defense or confuse the defenders. It seemed that everything was up the middle, both the run game and the pass attack (if you could call it that?) There was such a slow cadence to the Cardinals on Offense. It's no wonder Skelton was injured. The defenders were all wound up and ready to pounce at the eventual snap of the ball. It was grueling to watch.
The icing on the cake was when Kolb came in and sped up the tempo and got his rhythm going. He changed everything by taking control and just as he was about to throw the winning touchdown pass, Whiz was trying to interrupt the play and call a timeout. I was saying to myself "Just shut up and allow the players to play." He almost froze his own quarterback and make him try to do it again.
Am I being too harsh or did this game look like a pillow fight between two cross eyed fat chicks with murder on their minds?
That game was an embarrassment. At least Seattle can claim rookie mistakes. There is no excuse for the Cardinals.
Yes, I know, it was a win. "A win is a win" but just like in sex, sometimes you wish you could get a do-over because you know, in your heart, that you are a lot better than that performance.
At least the Arizona Red Birds couldn't possibly play any worse than they did versus the Seahawks. It can only be up from here.
