Of course you can't expect the Cards to be at the same level as the Seahawks or the 49ers this season, it is just too soon to be competitive with a team that is "reloading" which means changing its roster by close to 70%. And specially if you don't have a young franchise QB, and everybody knows there just wasn't any good prospect in any other teams or the draft this year (except Alex Smith, but there was just no way 49ers were going to let Cards have him).
So the plan is clear, the reason for signing Carson Palmer was basically get the most out of him as Cards best short term solution to work with the rest of the team which is getting a bunch of great young players, learn BAs system so by the time of next years Draft in which there is a handful of great QB prospects to be Cards franchise QB, get one, get him in a team that has already played a year with this system so not everybody is starting to learn a complex offence like BAs.
So just be patient, hopefully Carson Palmer can do something with this years team to keep it afloat and next year will be much better with a bunch of young fresh players plus a great franchise QB. (an of course a fresh new OL!)
