Hypothetically, if we lose too many games in the mid season and its a good idea to evaluate some of the other players on the roster, would you rather see Stanton or Lindley and why (or would you look at both)? What if Lindley could actually be the QBOTF (can you imagine if we let him go and another team picked him up and that happened!). Equally, I was a fan of Brian Hoyer when he came here and was dissappointed to see him go, and I think Stanton could have some talent, I kind of see him in the same category as Hoyer, an unknown QB journeyman - but who knows.
So I went back and took a look at the pre-season stats, and here is what I found:
Stanton
G1 8/14 107 1 TD
G2 10/19 152 1 INT
G3 7/9 55 1 INT
G4 0/2 0
Total 25/44 314YD 1TD 2INT RATING - 67.80
Lindley
G1 3/5 78
G2 4/6 52
G3 3/6 26
G4 17/29 214 2TD
Total 27/46 370YD 2TD RATING - 99.00
Palmer
G1 4/6 77 1TD
G2 7/15 66
G3 12/23 122 1TD
G4 - Did not play
Total 23/44 265YD 2TD RATING - 85.89
I don't think its fair to hold Lindley to the expectation that he is only as good as the 2012 season, I think he deserves another chance.
I think if the season goes south - we should take a look at both of these QB's, and take a look at Lindley FIRST so we can see if we need to draft a QB high in this draft and plan roster moves for 2014.
Any thoughts?
