Although most would agree that the Cardinals had a pretty good draft; the final grade is yet to be determined. However, watching the Bills Vs. the Browns last night; I was thoroughly impressed and entertained by the play of Kiko Alonso. This kid plays with speed, physicality and passion for the game. Now pre draft, I didn't see Kiko Alonso going that high and actually had him in the 3rd or 4th round I think. Based on his play for the Bills though; he definitely deserved that 2nd round 46th overall pick. Consequently the pick immediately after Kevin Minter.
The Cardinals did well to trade back in the 2nd round and pick up an extra pick. Having done so, they basically gave up the oppurtunity to draft Manti Teo with pick#38. Given the circumstances, you'd like to think that the Cardinals were looking for a strong inside linebacker to pair up with DWash and not overlooking the talents of Kiko Alonso but right now with Kevin Minter, selected 1 pick in front of Alonso and selected instead of Teo, playing behind Brinkley, DWash and Dansby; you have to wonder if the Cardinals missed the boat on Alonso...or even Teo for that matter.
It will be interesting to follow the career paths of these three players given the oppurtunities the Cardinals had at all of them. Right now; Alonso has the jump start on the better career followed by Minter just because Teo has been injured most of the season. So who do you think will have a better career ? Did the Cards miss the boat on Alonso ?
