The Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman is reportedly going to back away from social media.
If there is one thing that you can count on in the offseason, it is Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darnell Dockett making a few waves while fooling around on social media. This offseason began with helping making Katherine Webb famous with his playful flirting with her via Twitter after she got some screen time during the BCS National Championship game. Then he got into a bit of a Twitter war with Chris Rix after Rix questioned Dockett's sexuality.
However, this may be coming to an end. Local reporter Mike Jurecki reportedly spoke with Dockett, who told him, "You're not going to find me on twitter...I'm going to focus on football."
Could it be? No more crazy stuff dealing with gators, racism, police or Oprah. No more calling out players on opposing teams. Maybe it is true. He hasn't tweeted anything at all since the seventh, and Jurecki spoke with him reportedly on the eighth.
I don't know about you, but I have this feeling that the new coaching staff happens to be behind this change of heart. Whether Bruce Arians or someone else on the staff approached him or not, you can tell that Dockett is ready to be more serious because he really believes that the team is heading in the right direction. As things with the team got worse and worse, it would seem that Dockett got more and more crazy on Twitter.
Will it stick? If things don't improve, I gives this a couple of seasons. They have a few sayings, after all, and tigers don't tend to change their stripes. They just get distracted. Hopefully winning distracts him for a while, although I do get a kick out of his antics. It is pretty funny.
