The Cardinals may be looking for a new quarterback this offseason

Christian Petersen

Judging by the comments of Cardinals GM Steve Keim, the team may be searching for a new quarterback.

Fixing the quarterback.

That is why Steve Keim was hired as the team's general manager. It is also why Ken Whisenhunt was fired and why Bruce Arians was made the new head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. Kevin Kolb hasn't panned out yet and proven that he can be a reliable starter for the team. John Skelton is as good as gone and Ryan Lindley, if the team decides to keep him, is a long term project.

So what are the Cards going to do about the most important position on the field for 2013? Well, we don't know yet, but what we do know is that they may be looking for a new signal caller. And they are looking far and wide.

It's hard to know what this means exactly. The Cards could opt to bring someone like Drew Stanton in to compete for the starting job or they could draft a Geno Smith, Tyler Wilson, Mike Glennon or Matt Barkley to come in and take the reins.

Whatever the case, it sounds as if they are going to bring in fresh blood. The roster will not be comprised of Kolb, Skelton, Lindley and Brian Hoyer again. If Kolb is retained, he is going to have competition. Keim does not sound as if he is content with sitting back and letting it all figure itself out. He wants better results from the position and he wants them this year.

What do you make of his comments? Can we take anything from them? Will we see a new starting QB under center for the Cards next season? Tell us in the comments section.
