2013 NFL Combine: Eric FIsher 'working to be the No. 1 tackle' in NFL Draft

USA TODAY Sports

The Central Michigan offensive lineman continues to impress.

Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher has seen his draft stock rise. He was very good in the Senior Bowl and has been projected in many mock drafts to land with the Arizona Cardinals with the seventh pick. For some time, he has been the consensus number two tackle behind Texas A&M's Luke Joeckel.

However, Fisher is not content in wanting to be the second best. "I'm working to be the No. 1 tackle," he said to the media. "That's not up to me in the end. That's up to coaches and general managers, but that's what I'm working for."

Fisher played left tackle in college and is projected to be a left tackle in the pros, but he is versatile.

"I think I'm a very versatile offensive lineman," he said. "I'll play anywhere on the offensive line. I love the territory, I love playing in the trenches and doing my job."

Considering the Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has said that the best five linemen on the team will start, would mean that it could mean a position change for a player or two.

One thing that Fisher prides himself in is the fact that he doesn't feel he does one facet of the game better than another. Levi Brown is undoubtedly a better run blocker than pass blocker. The opposite has been said about guard Daryn Colledge. Fisher?

"I like to consider myself as an overall rounded offensive lineman," he explained. "I don't like to have certain strengths. I don't want to be dominant in the run game but slack in the pass game. I like to be well rounded, not let the QB get touched and get rushing yards."

That is exactly what the Cardinals are hoping to do with their line. Fisher may just be one key piece towards doing that.
