USA TODAY Sports

One of the team's pending unrestricted free agents is discussing a new deal with the team.

March 12 is still several days away, but the Arizona Cardinals are trying to take care of a couple of their own players that will soon no longer be under contract. The team has been discussing a new deal with cornerback Greg Toler, but he is not the only one. According to multiple reports, the team is also in discussions with safety Rashad Johnson.

Arizona Republic reporter Kent Somers ran into Johnson at the team's facility and tweeted that things look good for his return.

Darren Urban, from azcardinals.com, also expressed the same optimism, although he "doesn't think anything is going to pop" any time quickly.

The talks with Toler and Johnson do show one thing -- the team would like to keep the defense as intact as it can. It sounds like they will likely both be back in the fold for the Cardinals before March 12 rolls around.
