The Arizona Cardinals had a very busy Wednesday. They signed five players and cut one. They also have a sixth player expected to sign soon.
What happened exactly?
Before he could come to Arizona to hear the pitch by the Cardinals, Reggie Bush signed with the Detroit Lions. Instead of signing him, the Cardinals landed running back Rashard Mendenhall, signing him to a one-year contract.
Then there was a bit of a surprise. The team cut Kerry Rhodes in a salary cap move that also changes the face of the secondary.
Later, special teams star and linebacker Lorenzo Alexander signed a three-year deal with the Cardinals.
Worried that nothing happened with the quarterback position? No problem. They also signed Drew Stanton to a three-year contract.
Looking to fill the void left left by cutting Rhodes, the team added veteran safety Yeremiah Bell.
Receiver/kick returner Joshua Cribbs is expected to sign soon.
Whew. That was a lot. More to come later.
