Okay, let's check the body count on Coach Bruce Arians massive rehaul of the roster- and of course, he's not totally responsible for all the decisions:
Starting Quarterback. Released.
Starting Running Back. Released.
Starting Safety. Released.
Starting Inside Linebacker. Released.
Nickle Cornerback. Allowed to sign elsewhere in Free Agency.
But, you say, AndyStandsUp, (love typing myself in the third person..so cool) Kevin Kolb and Paris Lenon haven't been released/traded/restructured yet.
And you and I would still be correct.
The team changes I'm describing is of the 2012 INDIANAPOLIS COLTS. Yes, I know Arians didn't start coaching 'til Chuck Pagano caught a touch of the cancer and Arians didn't pull the string on most, if any of these deals...but it's still pretty deja-vu- like and frankly, it's the angle I'm taking.
Last season the Colts let go of QB Peyton Manning (that neck thang), RB Joseph Addai, S Melvin Bullitt, ILB Gary Brackett and let CB Jacob Lacey go in FA.
This offseason, (and I'm going on a few assumptions) QB Kolb and ILB Lenon will be free to fly, RB Beanie Wells, S Kerry Rhodes were cut and CB Greg Toler signed with (more ooh-oohhh- like overtones in background) with the Colts.
Indy went from 2-14 before the transmission repair to 11-5 the following season.
I hope for Cardinals fans that's he's a huge Brittany Spears fan and will replicate past success.
And if he's a Foreigner fan and still has that blurry eye problem, I hope the team neurologist is on the sideline- able to check for a concussion.
