Cardinals are dwindling down in their Free Agent frenzy by adding possibly their last piece or second to last piece. Antoine Cason has agreed to a one year deal with the Cardinals, in an attempt to boost his Free Agent status next offseason.
Cason was drafted with the 27th pick in the 2008 draft by the San Diego Chargers. During his five year tenure with the Chargers, Cason intercepted 12 passes, 55 pass deflections, and recorded a sole touchdown during his rookie season. He lead the Chargers the last three seasons in pass deflections. In a pass heavy AFC West he adds solid depth to a once depleted secondary, quickly rebuilt with plenty of talent.
Cason figures to be a strong candidate to start opposite of Patrick Peterson and adds an upgrade over William Gay. His contract is $1.5 Million with 500k in incentives, so his cap hit will round out to about $2 Million.
On an unrelated note, Adrian Wilson has signed with the Patriots, making me a Patriot fan for the duration of the time Wilson is in New England.
