after the dust settled @ the end of last week & drew stanton joined the cards qb carousel,(& kevin kolb disembarked,)i started to look back @ our draft history & free-agency acquisitions to see which avenue has provided us w/the best producers @ this position.i came to the conclusion that if the average cards fan couldnt name a qb or call him readily to mind,he didnt really make that good of an impression & was passed over,(no pun intended,)the only ones that really stood out 30-40 years ago was jim hart in the early 70's & niel lomax around 1980,then you had "jake the snake"in the 90's,(but 1 playoff appearance in 98 wasnt enough to really blow my skirt up,)& the matt lienart debacle still leaves a bad taste in our mouths,on the other hand/the only qb who really rocked our collective worlds was a free-agent who came to us in 05 w/low expectations & for the next 4 seasons demonstrated what fans had hoped a cards qb could be & took us to the big dance for the 1st time since 19 & 47,(so is this the year the draft will finally yield us a good/productive qb?or will it be free-agent additions that will finally bring us the next warner?or should we keep plugging away w/ both options until we get another hit?)*im inclined to say the latter 1 myself, but what do you think?
