Breezy Days in the AZ has cleared the Smoke

There have been a lot of smoke screens tossed around by BA, Keim and Co. When it comes down to draft day; this is how I see the Cardinals operating based on player values in each round, values for each position plus need and BPA considered. This is my final mock draft where the ( a ) player is the target player and subsequent players are the consolation prize.

Final Mock Draft. The Smoke has cleared Version

Round 1 QB: Most say these QB'z aren't first round quarterbacks. I say different and look for the Cards to draft a QB in the first and trade or cut Hoyer post draft. Here is how I have their possible options ranked.

1-7.a Matt Barkley

1-7.b Geno Smith

1-7.c Tyler Wilson

Round 2 LB / Pass Rush: With the QB out of the way; unless there is a stud Olineman on the board, the Cards look to improve their pass rush or LB group where they will likely have several options. Here is how I have their possible options ranked.

2-38.a Demontre Moore

2-38.b Alex Oakafor

2-38.c Margus Hunt

2-38.d Corey Lemonier

2-38.e Kaseem Green

Round 3 OL: I know most will not be happy with the Cards waiting until the 3rd round to address their Oline but simply put; this is where the value is at because lineman tend to slip. Here is how I have their possible options ranked.

3-69.a Barrett Jones

3-69.b Kyle Long

3-69.c Travis Frederick

3-69.d Teron Armstead

3-69.e Dallas Thomas

Round 4 Safety: The Safety position is certainly a need now that ADUB and Rhodes are gone. Bell is likely a stop gap. In round 4 the group is starting to thin out but there are a few possible options.

4-103.a Baccari Rambo

4-103.b TJ McDonald

4-103.c Shamarko Thomas

Round 5 RB: With Mendenhall on-board under a 1 year contract and Ryan Williams health still a question mark; I look for the Cardinals to draft a QB in the fifth as there should still be some good options available and if not; Powell and Alphonso could still play a role next season. Here are some of the options that may be available to the Cards and how I have them ranked.

5-140.a Christine Michael

5-140.b Johnathan Franklin

5-140.c Kenjon Barner

5-140.d Knile Davis

5-140.e Jawan Jamison

Round 6 TE's: BA is not a big believer in a full back and Anthony Sherman may become trade bait to move up and select a targeted player. Either way I look for the Cards to try and improve their TE squad with some blocking first TE's to compliment Housler in 2 TE sets. Here are some options that may be available with the 2 six round picks.

Note: These six round picks along with Sherman may be a good opportunity to trade up somewhere in the draft for a single coveted TE as well.

6-174/176.a Chris Gragg

6-174/176.b Michael Williams

6-174/176.c Dion Sims

There you have it. The smoke has cleared. The air is fresh and the Cardinals are ready to begin the 2014 campaingn in the NFC West.
