Another step in the Arizona Cardinals offseason has been taken. The team has reportedly set its offseason schedule, leading the team into the summer for one final break before training camp (the dates and location of which are yet to be determined).
Pro Football Talk posted the offseason schedule for all the teams in the league, and the Cardinals are one of the earliest teams to start their offseason workouts. They open their offseason calendar on April 2, when the players may begin to attend team workouts with John Lott and the training staff.
The first team activities take place from April 23-25, just before the NFL Draft, when the team will hold its voluntary minicamp.
Following the voluntary minicamp is the team's mandatory minicamp, which will be held June 11-13. That will end the offseason schedule and the team will then be off until training camp begins.
Four other teams open their offseason schedule on April 2. Four also open April 1. The common thread? They are all teams, excluding the New York Jets, that hired new coaches in the offseason.
The rest of the league will wait until the 15th or 22nd to open workouts.
