Before we miss free agency ... Dump Kolb and his salary

Stay connected for news and updates

Just imagine the unique opportunity the Cardinals have in 2013 draft to get two first round picks in this one draft. Yes as we Az Cardinals fans know that the management will not see this big picture and possible make the same mistakes by trying to get a QB in the draft. Geno Smith (or even my fellow Alumnus Matt Barkley) cannot help us. The saving grace is that we have a new offensive minded coach (Arians) who will build an "O" line and is his #1 priority.

Jake Long a former #1 pick (2008) and who had been one of the premiere offensive tackles in the league with Miami, before his injury, his services it seems will be available in free agency. Jason Smith (Jets) was the # 2 pick (2009) as a guard will also be available. Imagine having a solid offensive line for a change with our current players who did not play that badly (based on statistics).

Then finding a serviceable QB to come in (Chase Daniels, Mark Sanchez, Alex Smith, Matt Moore or Ryan Mallett) and with a strong "o" line anyone one of those guys can manage the game! Moving the chains with our running backs and receivers will be a lot easier with an experienced offensive line.

Trust me, the Cardinals don't need to show off with the long ball to Fitzgerald! The true need is to control the pace and control the game with solid play (and may first downs). A good 2nd round QB would be great to back-up whoever we poach out there in the market. It seems that QB's will be available that can be developed.

Dumping Kolb and his salary would go a long way to fixing what has been wrong this tepid Cardinals team over the last few years.
