He 's taking over a large chunk of the Arizona Cardinal's salary cap this upcoming season and financial figures will only climb if retained. And let's face it, the passing game was terrible last year. Due a roster bonus shortly after the league year starts on Tuesday, would cutting him allow the team flexibility to sign a new QB, keep Greg Toler or Adrian Wilson, Daryn Colledge or Adam Snyder on the roster? Is he going to accept restructuring or would a complete cut of the ties that bind be more appropriate?

...and yes, I'm not talking about Kevin Kolb. I'm speaking of Larry Fitzgerald.

Now, I know this is sacrilege right off the bat and it ain't going to happen.

But Fitz is holding a 10 million option due March 15th that hasn't received as much pub as Kolb's. His salary this season is a meager 5 mil for the face of the franchise (sorry, Wilson) yet climbs to the "dangerous" over 10 mil levels 'til 2018. He redid his contract at least twice, but would the third time be the charm? (Maybe, a Tom Brady kinda deal with menial average salary and heavy on the guaranteed dough on the backside?) Remember, one of the main reasons given that Anquan Boldin was traded was because of the reasoning that you couldn't pay two WRs top money. So what if Andre Roberts or Micheal Floyd outperform their rookie contracts? What if he suffered a (heaven forbid) career ending injury? What if his father and and brother would quit tweeting on his behalf? (I kid, because I care.)

Like I said, I wouldn't want this (and it isn't going) to happen cuz Larry is almost as a good as a player as a human being. It was a travesty he didn't win the NFL Man of the Year and he's suffered through some of the worst passers since the forward throw was invented. He deserves to retire as a Cardinal, whether he likes it or not. But people are waiting with abated breath over Kolb's signing bonus coming up on March 17th or whenever, and practically placing bets on whether he'll be cut or not, while Fitzs' remains under the radar.

Frankly, wouldn't it be nice to not overpay for a weiner?

And yes... this time I'm referring Kolb.
