So, after Keim and Arian's recent interview, I think that I can roughly figure out who we are going to pick. Keim said that the first and second round picks are players that need to have an impact immediately. That is the key. Who will have an immediate impact? Definitely not a quarterback. Cornerback? Doubtful. At our picks of 7 and 38, there are only a few immediate impact players that come to mind. ( Note: Since they must have an immediate impact, expect them to be BPA but also have need factored in a bit as well.)
#7: (in no particular order) Chance Warmack, Kenny Vaccaro, Ezekiel Ansah, Dion Jordan, Jarvis Jones, Jonathan Cooper, and Tyler Eifert.
Explanation: Warmack/Cooper are both studs and could immediately take over at guard. Vaccaro could fill the hole we have at safety. Jordan and Jones are both stud linebackers who could immediately plug in to our defense since we have holes at both ILB and OLB. Eifert would be a good recieving TE that Arians loves and could be used with Housler. Finally, Ansah is the black sheep here. Simply, because he is in many ways a project. But, I think that he could plug in easily.
#38: Larry Warford, Kevin Minter, Eric Reid, Kyle Long, Alec Ogletree, Matt Elam, Zach Ertz, Jonathan Cyprien, and Eddie Lacy.
Explanation: For the same reasons as in the first round. Only wild card here is Kyle Long and I would take him easily if he fell to the third.
Lane Johnson: We won't pick him because he still needs to learn the game and he would not be able to plug in right away and be effective.
