Comparing the Arizona Cardinals OGs with the Rest of the NFC West

Jeff Hanisch-US PRESSWIRE

Cardinals finally slipped to number four on the list and it only looks like it will keep on going.

The Cardinals hit rock bottom in Tackle Depth/Talent, and while we do have more talent at guard... It's young and it's unproven so it's likely we'll hit rock bottom again. Let's begin!

Arizona Cardinals:

Name Age Year
Daryn Colledge 31 8
Jonathan Cooper 23 R
Senio Kelemete 23 2
Earl Watford 23 R
Mike Gibson 27 6
Chilo Rachal 27 6

Colledge and Cooper are the penciled in starters, and while Colledge struggled last season, it is worth noting that he also had to assist the LT on nearly every single play. Yes he's a finesse blocker so his ability in the run game may not be superb, but he can open up lanes when need be. Cooper has loads of talent surrounding him, and I honestly thought he was the better Guard heading into the draft than Chance Warmack was heading into the draft. Kelemte showed us hope, and Watford is a raw talent, who with the right coaching can be a serviceable player.

San Francisco 49ers:

Name Age Year
Alex Boone 26 4
Mike Iupati 26 4
Adam Snyder 31 9
Joe Looney 22 2
Daniel Kilgore 25 3
Patrick Omameh 23 R
Al Netter 23 1

Both Boone and Iupati are the starters, the quite infamous Snyder returns. Boone is the backup tackle, as I was taught yesterday, so it looks like Snyder would be that fill in... Don't get me wrong I feel like he was put in a poor situation to succeed in Arizona, but even then an eight year (now nine) vet should be able to assist a rookie with massive potential... I think he'll be better in San Francisco as the backup.

Seattle Seahawks:

Name Age Year
James Carpenter 24 3
John Moffitt 26 3
Paul McQuistan 30 8
Lemuel Jeanpierre 26 4
Rishaw Johnson 24 2
JR Sweezy 24 2
Ryan Seymour 23 R
Jared Smith 23 R

I know of McQuistan and Carpenter. And while I have not heard of Moffitt, there is a reason why Lynch runs the way he does, and that's with excellent blocking up front. Carpenter and Moffitt are talented individuals, but it is McQuistan that I question. Getting up there in age when a lineman begins to wear down.

St. Louis Rams:

Name Age Year
Harvey Dahl 32 7
Shelley Smith 26 4
Lee Bryan 24 1
Rokevious Watkins 24 2
Brandon Washington 24 R

Dahl was a great acquisition for the Rams, Smith started six games last year and Watkins only played two.Like everything else so far, great talent, there's the one guy who's proved himself, and Smith has shown he can play.

So... I'll put the 49ers at the top, the Seahawks in the two slot, the Rams at #3 and the Cardinals again last.

Again neither the Rams nor Cardinals are horrible at guard, it's just to early to tell about the rest of their talent. For all we know Cooper could be an absolute bust for the Cardinals... Fingers crossed.

QB: #1

RB: #3

WR: #1

TE: #3 (Tied w/ Rams)

OT: #4

OG: #4
